Light House
Designed to maximise light, while maintaining control
A residence shaped around openness, proportion, and how it is lived in over time.
Location: Essendon
Typology: Private residence
Status: Completed 2024
Located within a quiet, established street in Essendon, the project required a measured response.
The approach began with how the home would be lived in — not how it would present.
The brief called for openness, but without losing a sense of control.
Light was treated as a primary design element.
Openings are positioned to draw natural light deep into the plan, allowing spaces to change subtly throughout the day.
This creates a home that feels calm and expansive — without relying on scale alone.
The layout is structured to simplify movement through the home.
Circulation is direct and intentional, removing unnecessary transitions between spaces.
The home is designed to feel effortless to move through.
