May Residences
Designed to balance presence and restraint.
A pair of residences shaped around light, proportion, and how they are lived in.
Location: Aberfeldie
Typology: Dual Occupancy
Status: Completed 2024
The site called for a response that was both considered and confident.
The surrounding context is established and residential — requiring the homes to sit comfortably within it, without losing their own identity.
The project was approached from the inside out.
The focus was not on form initially — but on how the homes would be lived in day-to-day.
Living areas were positioned to maximise natural light and connection to outdoor space, while circulation was simplified to remove unnecessary movement through the home.
Each residence is structured around clear zoning.
Shared spaces are open and connected, while private areas are deliberately separated.
Transitions between these zones are controlled — allowing the home to feel both open and contained, depending on how it is used.
Each decision supports how the home is lived in — not just how it appears.
